By Air

South African Airways is the national airline, but johannsburg and Cape Town international airports are both served by nearly all the worlds major airlines.  You can fly direct to Johannesburg from every continent in the world, making the airport a major hub for the continent.

Major Airports are:
Cape Town International (CPT) situated 22 km from the city. taxis and shared private shuttles run into the city. Plus some hotels and hostels offer transfers when booking.
