By Air

LAM is the neational airline.  the main international airport is Maputo International, hich is 3 km from the city.  Taxis are avaiable, it is preferable to agree a fare before travel.

By Rail

There are trains from Johannesburg and Durban.

By road

There are good road links with South Africa and Swaziland.  Links to Zimbabwe are fair.  links to Tanzania are poor.

There are daily coaches from Johannesburg and Pretoria to Maputo.

Getting Around

By Air

There are internal flights bertween Maputo, Beira, Tete and Pemba, but services are unreliable and luggage is often tampered with.

By Train

There are rail links between Beira and Tete and Maputo and Goba

By Road

Roads are in reasonable condition, although the coastal road has suffered flood damage several times.

Buses run the length of the country frequently, stopping at most towns.
