Getting There

By Air

The country is served by Eritrean Airlines.
The main international airport is Asmara (ASM) which is 6 km from the airport. Buses and taxis are available to the city.

By Water

Assab and Massawa are the main ports.  There is a weekly ferry from Massawa to Jeddah

By Road

Neither the Ethiopian or Sudanese borders can be considered as safe points to enter the country.

Getting Around

By Air

There are flights between Assab and Asmara, but services are limited

By Rail

There are train services between Massawa and Asmara but there is no timetable and services are erratic.

By Road

Roads are slowly being repaired following the conflicts, most major roads are tarred and are generally always passable, otherwise esecially in the wet season roads are impassable.
Buses run at least daily between major towns but can be cramped.
Taxis are usually shared and run in the capital and from the airport. Traffic drives on the right.
