InnsbruckThe main shopping area is the Maria-Theresien Strasse, at the end is the rock wall of the Nordkette, the mountain range which towers over the city. The Tyrolean Folk Museum offers a reflexion of loife over the years in Austria. The mountains are accessible from the city the funicular railway the Hungerbergbahn running direct from the city. Axamsis a small town located to the south west of Innsbruck, it housed a winter olympics village, and is a good winter sports base with a downhill toboggan ride, and ice skating rink and cross country skiing through forest trails. Plus of cousre the Axamer-Lizum ski area FulpmesSituated in the Stubai Alps to the south of Innsbruck, the picturesque town is often visited a day trip from Innsbruck. However with great walking, mountain biking and winter sports the town is worth a visit in it's own right. GalturA pretty Tyrolean town with a lively apres-ski circuit, the otwn was badly damaged during the thirty years war. Gnandenwaldis a village of aound 600 inhabitants situated on the Karwendal plateau in the low mountains. Walking and climbing are popular in the low foothills of the Alps. Is a town in Western Tyrol, about 55km west of Innsbruck For the ski season it offers a quieter option to some of the neighbouring towns, but with all the facilities. It is alos home to the Alpine roller coaster. |

Ittersituated east of Innsbruck, Itter is a pretty Tirolean village centred around a picturesque church and castle. It lies at the foot of the Hohe Salve mountain 10 minutes' along the valley from Söll. Kirchdorf

dates back to around 1100 BC, and is the administrative capital of the the Tyrol. It is situated between the mountains Hahnenkamm (5616 ft., 1712 m) and Kitzbühler Horn (6548 ft., 1996 m). The Hahnenkammis home of the annual >world cup ski races. Koessen Situated 24 km from Innsbruck, the town is very close to the border with Bavaria. The Maria Klobenstein church is of interest to visit.
Maurach Am Achenseea small village between the Blue Lake and Schroffen Mountain, the picturesque village is known as the little village by the big lake. MayrhofenIn the Ziller valley with the Zillar und Tux mountains as a backdrop, skiing is available year round because the nearby Hintertux glacier, which, at 3250m above sea level, is above the snowline. ReutteReutte is the administrative centre of the Ausserfern area of Austria. Reutte is positioned at a strategic point at the junction of the Lech, the Ehrenberger Klause gorge and the access to the Allgäu area over the border in Germany. A train link is provided by Deutsch rail, whihc links the town to many Bavarian castles. St Johann in Tirolis a market town in the Kitzbuhel region,
the parish church and St Antonius chapel are worth a look, but the town it is the outdoors which are primarily celebrated. Including the obvious skiing, snowbo9arding, hiking, cycling is very popular with various national and international events held throughout the year. There is a cross country run a summer and winter toboggan run, archery, pistol and rifle shooting range, riding hall and paths plus more.
