Lower Austria , NiederösterreichSituated in the north east of Austria, this is the most populated province in Austria. But also one of the least visited by tourists. Primarily because it is an area of rolling hills rather than dramatic mountains. However the Danube cuts through the region and the area is steeped in history, so there is much to see in the region. (there are more 550 castle and fortress in the area) |
