Carinthia

This area is a major holiday destination for Austrains, Italians and Germans.  Klagenfurt is the provincial capital, it is on the Eastern shore of the Wörthersee.

Lakes & sports

The lakes are a main attraction for the hordes of holidaymakers who come here each year.   Windsurfing, pedalos, rowing boats, waterskies are all avaible.  Plus at many lakes there are cycle routes and bikes for hire.

Scuba diving and sailing courses are also available.  Plus as with any holiday destiantion golf is available the Millerstrattersee and Velden are probably the most prestigous.

Grossglockner

Austria's highest mountain, many people visit the village of Heiligenblut which in a valley to the south of the summit.

Kalgenfurt

the federal capital of Carinthia, Klagenfurt is surrounded by forest covered mountains, and is next to Lake Worthersee. The vicinity to the border of Slovenia and Italy and the Mediterranean Sea, creates a Mediterranean climate in the summer, and bright sunny days in the winter. The city is around 800 years old
